Types of Rudraksha
The Purans suggests the presence of twenty-one types of Rudrakshas. However, normally only fourteen types of Rudraksha are available. The benefits of each Rudraksha type are mentioned below:
Ek Mukhi Rudraksha (one faced Rudraksha)
This is considered to be the most pious form of Rudraksha. Holy people believe that this Rudraksha is the manifestation of Lord Shiva. This Rudraksha fulfils the desires of those who wear it. This Rudraksha is also good for the spiritual progress of the wearer.
Dwimukhi Rudraksha (two-faced Rudraksha)
This Rudraksha helps in relieving sorrow and negativity. The Rudraksha also helps in the acquisition of wealth and luxuries of life. This Rudraksha is found to give the best results to devotees of Lord Shiva. It also protects from black magic and evil spirits.
Tri Mukhi Rudraksha (three-faced Rudraksha)
The Fire Gods bless those who wear this Rudraksha. This Rudraksha blesses its users with money, knowledge and wisdom. This bead also protects against acute fevers.
Chaturmukhi Rudraksha (four-faced Rudraksha)
This is considered to be the manifestation of Brahma. The person who wears this Rudraksha is blessed with greatness and riches. This Rudraksha is ideal for the weak-minded. It also gives strength to those who are physically weak.
Panch Mukhi Rudraksha (five-faced Rudraksha)
The wearer of this Rudraksha is said to be dear of Lord Shiva. This Rudraksha eliminates all sorrows from the wearer’s life and cures illness. Three beads of this Rudraksha should be stringed together and worn.
Chehmukhi Rudraksha (six-faced Rudraksha)
It is ideal for acquiring wisdom and knowledge. This Rudraksha helps to gain spiritual powers. It also helps in business. This Rudraksha destroys poverty and draws the grace of Goddess Lakshmi. It helps in curing hysteria and other illnesses.
Saptamukhi Rudraksha (seven-faced Rudraksha)
This Rudraksha represents the seven rishis. The wearer of this Rudraksha rises in life. They get name, fame and glory. They also enjoy a good status in life. This bead brings affluence and prosperity.
Ashtmukhi Rudraksha (eight-faced Rudraksha)
This Rudraksha is said to be the manifestation of Lord Ganesha. This Rudraksha provides longevity. The grace of Lord Shiva also comes by wearing this Rudraksha. This bead frees the user from falsity and deception.
Navmukhi Rudraksha (nine-faced Rudraksha)
This Rudraksha is the symbol of Goddess Durga and Dharmaraj. One can achieve almost everything just simply wearing this Rudraksha. It ensures control over enemies. It also blesses the wearer with wealth and happiness.
Dasmukhi Rudraksha (ten-faced Rudraksha)
This bead has a strong positive effect on adverse planetary effects, evil power, misfortunes, miseries and worldly sufferings. The ruling lord of this bead is Lord Vishnu. This Rudraksha gives good nature, wealth and prosperity to the wearer. This bead is used for meditative purposes and improves the concentration power of the wearer.
Ekadash Mukhi Rudraksha (eleven-faced Rudraksha)
The ruling lords of this Rudraksha bead are Lord Indra and Lord Hanuman (eleventh Rudra). This bead is considered to be a good remedy for problems related to Mars, Jupiter and Saturn.
Dwadash Mukhi Rudraksha (twelve faced Rudraksha)
Twelve Faced Rudraksha bead is prescribed as a remedy for Sun related problems. The lord of Twelve Faced Rudraksha bead is Lord Vishnu. The wearer of this Rudraksha is said to always enjoy wealth, prosperity and worldly pleasures. It is a very effective remedy for mental problems. It also imparts courage and protects from enemies.
Therah Mukhi Rudraksha (thirteen faced Rudraksha)
The Thirteen faced Rudraksha is the symbol of Lord Indra and Kamadeva (Cupid). The ruling planet of this bead is Venus and therefore it inherits virtues like love, affection, beauty and attraction as its attributes. It is helpful for meditation and spiritual attainments. It is said to have special powers in curing even non-curable diseases.
Chaudah Mukhi Rudraksha (Fourteen faced Rudraksha)
The Fourteen Faced Rudraksha bead is recommended as a solution to Saturn related problems. This ruling lord is Lord Hanuman. The wearer of this Rudraksha never fails in his decisions. This Rudraksha is also said to protect the wearer from ghosts, evil spirits and black magic.
