Significations of Planets (In Medical Astrology)

As the different signs and different Nakshatras rule over various parts of the body, the various parts of the body, the various planets are also related to different body parts. The significations of planets with respect to health is briefly discussed below. These planetary significations find mention in a classical text named ‘Uttara Kalamrita’.

The Sun:

The Sun is the significator of the following: (a) Soul (b) Good strength (c) Heart (d) Bones (e) Stomach (f) Eye (g) Bile (h) Feverish or inflammatory complaints (i) Diseases of the eye (j) Body (k) Mental purity (l) Freedom from disease (m) Diseases of the head (n) Blood.

The Moon:

The Moon is the significator of the following: (a) Intelligence (b) Disease (c) Phlegmatic constitution (d) Epilepsy (e) Hidden or ulcerous troubles in the stomach (f) nature of the mind (g) Heart (h) Acidity (i) Sleep (j) Malarial fever (k) Consumption (l) Mind (m) Stomach (n) Nourishment (o) Face (p) Swiftness of mind and agility of mind (q) Eating (r) Eating (s) Ailments of the shoulders (t) Fine blood circulation or vital energy.

The Mars:

Mars is the significator of the following items: (a) Valour (b) Strength (c) Loss of virility (d) Anger (e) Bile (f) Wounds (g) Sight (h) Shortness (i) Ailment (j) Firmness of Limbs (k) Youth (l) Bitterness of taste (m) Valour (n) Painful urination (o) Leanness (p) Blood (q) Anger (r) Speech (s) Fickleness or imbalance of the mind (t) Drying or coagulating of blood.

The Mercury:

The Jupiter:

Jupiter is the significator of the following: (a) Logic (b) Complaints of the digestive system (c) Physical health (d) Brain (e) Knee (f) Intellect (g) Understanding the minds or thoughts of others (h) Wind complaints (i) Phlegm.

The Venus:

The Saturn:
