As per Wikipedia, “Breast cancer is a type of cancer originating from breast tissue, most commonly from the inner lining of milk ducts or the lobules that supply the ducts with milk. Cancers originating from ducts are known as ductal carcinomas, while those originating from lobules are known as lobular carcinomas. Breast cancer occurs in humans and other mammals. While the overwhelming majority of human cases occur in women, male breast cancer can also occur.”

Breasts as per Vedic astrology are seen from the fourth house. In the horoscope of the Zodiac (Kaal- Purusha) the fourth house has a Cancer sign rising. Hence, affliction to Cancer sign and natal Moon is significant in tracing breast cancer. As per Vedic astrology diseases of the breast and the flow of milk has to be ascertained from the Moon.

Mars signifies flesh in the body. The flesh is the dominating element in the breast. Lordship of Mars or placement of Mars in the fourth house can give attractive breasts. Other Causes of Breast Cancer:

Emotional Causes:

a) The breasts are the organs of love, nurturance, and self-giving. Thus, breast cancer, on the emotional level, may arise because of the inability to give and receive love and nurturing. In most cases, it is a lack of self-love that may trigger breast cancer. Nursing any kind of resentment may also cause breast cancer.

b) The breasts are also the symbol of the mother. Another significant cause of breast cancer may be hatred and resentment towards a mother who was physically and emotionally abusive or neglectful.

Environmental Causes:

a) With each decade, our soil, air, water, and entire food chain becomes increasingly polluted with known carcinogens. These include herbicides, pesticides, crude oil, dyes, industrial effluents, emissions, chlorinated hydrocarbons etc. Many of these items, being fat-soluble, are readily stored in adipose tissue, which is abundant in the breasts.

b) Addressing environmental pollution is the most important long-term preventative measure for breast cancer.

c) Cancer represents deep hurt or longstanding resentment. It signifies a deep secret or grief eating away happiness and self. Such negative emotions have to be removed to heal cancer most particularly breast cancer. This can be done by forgiving self and others.

d) Breasts are a symbol of mother and motherhood. Negative emotions or bad relationships with the mother can draw breast cancer more so after the demise of the mother. This can be commonly understood as “Matri dosha” (curse of mother). To get rid of this dosha it is necessary to resolve all differences with mother by forgiving each other. Prayers if done for the mother and her spiritual wellbeing may heal the relationship faster and work as a remedy against breast cancer.

e) Apart from the healing of the mind and emotions, detoxification of the body is also required. Remedies like water therapy (Pani Prayog), massage, yoga, herbs can be used for healing breast cancer.
